If you have read one of the books in Ten Ways to Chess Success series, written with Dave Regis, you might want to look at our recommended books. Dave also has his own website with excellent resources for chess teachers and young players and some material that was squeezed out of the books.
Written to fill the gap perceived by the authors in reading material between beginners' books and those for the more advanced player, these books will help the young player progress to a reasonable standard. They are all written in clear English and illustrated with cartoons, and priced at £4.95 each.
These 50-game scorebooks have been especially designed for young players but have also been popular with adult club players. They have a large clear type and plenty of space for your moves (like the example sheet below). Each sheet has a diagram and space for comments, and the book has both an index and an explanation of how to record your moves.
The score books are available in a wide variety of colours:
...and can be printed in a custom cover for your own club or association. Price £3.75
Scoresheet pads (peel off pads of 100 sheets) £3.95
Score Pads for 50 games -- various colours with spiral binding on top edge. £3.75
